About the Project

Project Online Stakeholder Survey – Completed in 2017

Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) contracted Pivotal Research Inc. to conduct survey research with the various benefits plan sponsors and plan members it currently serves, including school jurisdictions and associations. The survey focused on gauging perceptions and satisfaction with several of the organization’s products and services.

The Pivotal Research team invited several ASEBP stakeholders and subject matter experts to participate in a survey development workshop intended to review and modify a survey instrument used for prior research with ASEBP based on the new objectives of the current research. Workshop participants reviewed and prioritized survey items pertaining to each of the key topic areas, jointly developed by ASEBP and the research team, and provided rationale for keeping, revising or deleting survey items/topics accordingly.

The research team drafted a questionnaire based on the workshop’s recommendations and ASEBP project team input. The instrument was finalized and tested internally for clarity and flow and then coded into an online version for data collection.

Covered Members: Covered members with ASEBP accounts, received an email invitation to participate in the survey from ASEBP.

Plan Sponsors: Two groups of respondents participated in the survey: 1) Decision Makers consisting of Superintendents, Associate Superintendents and Executive Directors; and 2) Operations Staff, consisting of those responsible for Payroll/Benefits, Secretary/Corporate Treasurers, Human Resources, Administration/Executive Assistants, Finance, Disability Coordinators and Health and Safety Coordinators.

The Pivotal Research team analyzed survey results and completed detailed reports that provided the ASEBP leadership team with key insights regarding major initiatives around improving the covered member and plan sponsor experience.
